Would Cutler have done as well as McCown against those same teams- nope
Do more than just a handful of 'stupid fans' think McCown should have been the best option over Cutler the rest of the season? - yes
Steve Young, a Hall of Fame QB....Terry Bradshaw, same....both like McCown over Cutler. It's more than just a some ignorant fans saying he knows what the hell he's doing in this system and outplayed Cutler. My eyes saw it, yours did, too if you cared to notice.....but hey, we're just a bunch of ignorant fans, huh...

Hey, we got Cutler, sink or swim now.....he plays like shit, he's gonna hear it loud and clear....

exactly how do you arrive at the conclusion that Cutler would not have done as well as McCown against those same weak defenses?

I think he would have done just as well if not better if healthy.

I also heard HOF WR Michael Irvin say on the NFL network pregame show before the Bears played the Browns in Cutlers comeback that Josh Gordon would have more catches and receiving yards in that game then Jefferies and Marshall combined because Cutler was starting....  Ooops..  Go check the game stats.  Talking heads are what they are.  Does that make them right 100% of the time.  No.

Yeah.  I saw an old journyman experienced back up QB come in and play lights out against some of the worst Ds in the League.  My eyes also saw that same QB the first 10 years of his career yours did too if you would care to notice....

There was another QB who had an amazing 4 game stretch and another team fell for the joke and got burned...  Who was that....  Oh yeah.  Scott Mitchell and the Detroit Lions.  Don't be the Detroit Lions.

Yes.  We are all pretty much ignorant fans when it comes to the real NFL.  Unless of course you are a former employee of the NFL is some capacity that has intimate knowledge of the goings on right now...  So yes.  You and I are ignorant.

If name dropping is the thing then since yesterday I have heard the following "experts" praise the Cutler deal. John Madden, Bill Polian, Rich Gannon and Steve Young. Haven't heard any "experts" saying we should have given a long term deal to McCown.

In 1997, Trestman was OC when Lions QB Scott Mitchell passed for 3,484 yards, fourth most in franchise history, and led the team to the playoffs.
