I'm a little leery about spending another high draft pick on a Wisconsin OL.  The last one hasn't turned out so well for us.

I like the idea of doubling down on interior O-Linemen though and especially if at least one of them can play C and G.

Would you see Fluker at LG or RG?

If Webb won the RT spot and we played Fluker at RG that would be a massive wall on that side.  But then we would still have nobody at LG unless that was a rookie as well or James Brown got the call there (which would practically be like having a rookie).  Rookies at both G spots makes me a little nervous even if they are better players per se then the guys we had at those spots last year.   

I like the trade down scenarios...but right now I am leaning toward taking Fluker and playing him at guard.

I love that scenario. I think its where he belongs, but I also question whether he can last till #34

Fluker falling to the 2nd would depend on 1) How he does at his Pro Day; 2)  How fast the top 3 OTs and top 2 OGs go off the board and 3) how teams project him as a RT vs a G. 

I don't see Fluker going ahead of Warmack or Cooper in any event, so at the point those guys are gone, he is effectively the 3rd ranked OG on the board for teams who project him as a G.  For those teams, anywhere above the very bottom of the 1st or top of the 2nd is not good value. OTOH if a team sees him as a Day One starter at RT, taking him at 20-25 is completely warranted.

In any event there's no way in h*ll Fluker falls to 50 so if we want him we either have to be willing to make the reach at 20, or via a tradedown that doesn't drop us beyond about 35. 

I could even see the Packers taking Fluker with their first round pick since they seem to be struggling for OL talent as well and it appears they will be sticking with Finley at TE (which would take Eifert/Ertz off their board).  They actually need interior OL worse than OT but if Fluker falls to their pick the value may be too good for them to resist.

I agree Yapp, I don't see Fluker dropping past the Pack. You either take him at 20 or do without.

I think that's probably right. At least he still has contacts down there that could find the answer

Projection:

1st/2nd Round

Strengths:

Very instinctive player who is able to read the play before the quarterback snaps the ball. Plays much bigger than his 6'0 foot frame would indicate. Gets under the pads of blockers, using his leverage to make a play on the ball. Great in coverage, asked to stay with tight ends and wide receivers running across the middle of the field. Doesn't shy away from contact. Able to close in on the quarterback using his quickness when blitzing through the gaps.

Weaknesses:

Size is a concern for Brown at the next level. Will he be a MLB or will a team move him to the outside? Struggles at Miami forced Brown to transfer to Kansas State which brought on maturity issues. With only three sacks and no forced fumbles during his college career, scouts have questioned Brown's playmaking ability.

Fit for the Bears:

With still no signs of the Bears bringing Brian Urlacher back and the loss of Nick Roach, linebacker has become the No. 1 area of need for Phil Emery. While No. 20 may seem a little high for Brown, the chances of him slipping to their second-round selection aren't likely. Emery showed he isn't afraid to reach for a player by selecting Shea McClellin in the first-round in 2012. The Kansas State standout could become the MLB of the future in Chicago and playing alongside Lance Briggs would only help his development.
