Now they're backtracking and saying the Jimenez deal might not be done.

Red Sox are about to trade former top prospect Lars Anderson for whatever is left of Rich Harden.

Does anybody else think that Jim Hendry's apartment probably looks like the homes of the people on those cable shows about hoarding?

Watching the Boston Red Sox hit is pretty enjoyable.

Pirates are getting Derrek Lee.  There goes the best landing spot for Pena.

Looks like Derrek Lee will be coming back to the NL soon.

Derrek Lee - 1B - Orioles

The Pirates are "getting very close" to acquiring first baseman Derrek Lee from the Orioles, according to Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun.
"Could very well happen tonight," Connolly writes. Lee is batting just .248/.306/.409 this season, but those numbers are deceiving. He's hitting .321 (17-for-53) with three home runs and 13 RBI since the All-Star break after a terrible first half and would be a nice upgrade for Pittsburgh.

The return for Pena would've probably been similar.

That's a fairly nice return for Lee.

At least Pena is still on the team to help us get back into contention.

The Braves refuse to include both Randall Delgado and Arodys Vizcaino in a deal for Bourn, according to ESPN.com's Jim Bowden (on Twitter).

That seems to imply the Braves might give up one of those guys for a centerfielder.  The Cubs have a pretty decent centerfielder.  Just saying.

Harden to the Red Sox fell through because of Harden's medical records.  Surprise.

Bourn to the Braves for 4 minor leaguers.  We'll see who the are...but if Hendry does reconsider his ridiculous stance on Byrd, a lot of his leverage is gone.

Remember br, we need guys like Byrd and Pena because Hendry has a job to save.

Braves got Bourn without giving up any of their top prospects.  Nice job by Frank Wren.

The irony is, the only way to save his job is to pull off some nice trades that make a good impression, but he's not bright enough to recognize it.  Continuing to preach that they'll contend next year is insane.
