You know, the two remaining years on Soriano's contract are looking less bad with every contract getting signed this offseason.

The way this offseason is going, Soriano probably could have easily gotten himself a 2 year, $20-24 million contract after the season he had.

Yeah, even I'm reconsidering whether or not the Cubs should trade Soriano based on this winter's action.

Rosenthal confirms the Red Sox and Victorino are "talking about" a 3 year, $37.5 million deal.  Victorino's people should be done talking and trying to sign on the dotted line before Cherington sobers up.

Buck Showalter just told us on SiriusXM that 30 managers were polled on wanting more instant replay and 29 of them said yes

Phillies and Diamondbacks are discussing Justin Upton for Cliff Lee. Money coming to AZ would also be involved.

Victorino apparently now has a 4 year offer on the table.  Wow.

The Red Sox are offering 3/$37.5, and the Cubs are offering a more appropriate 4/$20.

The Red Sox deal is done for 3/$39, pending a physical of course.

An NL exec on the Shane Victorino contract: "They all surprise us. But that one shocked us."

That one makes the Pagan deal look good, IMO.

One team guesstimated early in offseason that Victorino could be a good value buy at about $6-7 million on a one-year deal

I saw Victorino in a doubleheader against the Nats in late September.  I was sitting third row right behind Dodgers dugout and got a birds-eye view of his ABs against Nats pitching.  Bat speed was way down.  Six poor AB outs plus a double but seems like he got old all of a sudden.  Victorino used to be a fairly consistent .800 OPS guy but I think Red Sox will be disappointed based on what I saw in the two games, plus the overall numbers of course.

That team was correct. This signing has "Larry Lucchino" written all over it. If Ben Cherington was half that dumb, Theo would have fired him years ago.

Cleveland offered Victorino 4/44. Insane money being thrown around in Nashvile.

Angel Pagan is probably picking his jaw up off the floor right now...

The Victorino and Pagan deals are crazy, but I have no problems with the Upton deal. I wouldn't have complained had the Cubs signed him at that price.
