I wouldnt  be sad if the Bears take the best QB with the first pick in the 2024 draft. I am leary of any QB from North Carolina after Mitch. The ACC just isnt a football conference.

I wouldnt take the USC QB with our 7th round pick.

Forget getting a qb. We got a couple. Get some HOF lineman, both sides.

A few thoughts.  Go get Danielle Hunter and firm up both edges.  Find a FA center.   Then draft BPA, after drafting MHJ, however you do it.

What we really need is for one of the draft clas QBs to separate themselves from the pile of Williams, Maye, Penix, Daniels, Nix, McCarthy.  Does one really separate themselves, and does New England or Washington really covet that one? 

I am 100% in the Fields camp.  While Williams may have all the arm talent in the world, it concerns me when all of these stories of daddy's involvement, crying in momma's lap, rumors of wanting part team ownership, a list of teams that he will play for, etc.  Are we hearing any of this buzz around any of the other QNs in this draft class?  Step back and think about that.  Did we hear that with Young or Stroud last season?  Did we hear that with the draft class of Lawrence and Fields, Wilson, Jones, etc?  No.  Where there is smoke there is fire.  I believe there is enough circumstantial evidence around Williams that he is not a leader or well liked by his team.  Cade McNown II

What NE has to worry about is if they are dead set on one QB, the Bears trade to someone who moves up and picks that guy right before them, and they didn't want to just settle for the next guy.  They might have to move up.

What Washington has to worry about is if the Bears trade to another team and QBs go 1 & 2.  Is the third QB coming out worthy of the #3 pick in the draft?  They might have to move up.

Yeah, a big problem will be if the Commanders and Patriots are OK with who is leftover from Williams, Maye and Daniels.  Plus if they believe Chicago won't go QB or won't trade down, the Commanders can get their top choice and Pats get to choose from the remaining 2.

Recall last year Houston didn't appear to want to trade from 2 to 1.  Or maybe the Bears didn't want to trade with them figuring they could get more loot trading down to 9.

The Bears' trade down partner might be the Giants at 5.  Bears will miss out on MHJ but could get Odunze and their top edge guy (not necessarilly in that order).   Plus the Giants #2 and additional '25 draft picks.   Maybe a player too, but not quite the haul they got from Carolina going from 9 to 1.

The other problem on Monday night might be the emergence of Penix or McCarthy shooting up their draft value.  And Nix too.  Would Atlanta, Vegas, Denver and Minnesota be content waiting for these guys?

So yeah, Bears got to hope 1 guy emerges and the Bears benefit from a bidding war.   Nobody wants to get fleeced like Carolina did last year.

That's my point.  Why bet so heavily on one guy when the '2nd best' guy was so much more productive?

With our second first round pick who's the top ranked DE ?

Laiatu Latu.  He had the neck injury that caused him to sit out '20 and '21 but he played full seasons in '22 and '23 at a very high level.   He's got some physical limitations and  I don't think he's head and shoulders above a couple other guys, but he's got a motor and skills to attack the QB.

In a trade down he might be the first first round pick.
